JENNY CARPENTER

These most recent paintings draw from a sense of place. From small encounters with people in locations as far away as Northern Ireland, Madagascar and Namibia to finding refuge in places of comfort and the familiar. Through repetition I create an ethereal landscape both revealing and obscuring the image. Recent paintings reflect on these past few years — the extreme feeling of isolation contradicting, as a mother to twin 12 year-old boys, the reality of never really being alone.
