Jenny Carpenter paints on wood panels using the grain to manipulate the figure. Her interest is in the life led rather than a physical representation. She draws from encounters with people in remote locations such as Madagascar, Namibia and the north of Ireland but also finds moments of connection closer to home. This year Jenny exhibited in group shows at Foley Gallery in New York and the Danforth Art Museum outside Boston. Originally from Omaha, NE, she graduated from Creighton University with a BA in Studio Art. Jenny lives in Cold Spring, NY with her husband and twin 10-year-old boys, AKA The Little Criminals.
